Appropriate Population:
- School-age (5 years and up)
- Mild delay or age-appropriate cognitive and language abilities
Goal:
- Identifying problems
- Problem solving
- Perspective taking
Steps:
- Go through the list of scenarios and choose those which are most appropriate for your client. (Tip: Pick scenarios which your client would most likely come across/have experienced)
- For each scenario, identify the problem together.
- Discuss possible solutions for the problem using the problem solving steps (given by AHP, if any)
- Decide on the best solution for the problem.
Step up:
- Provide less support to your client when solving the problem.
- Discuss the pros and cons of each solution you and your client comes up with and pick the best solution.
Step down:
- Provide more support and scaffolding.
